EPA TSCA dust-lead hazard standards

EPA is lowering the standards from 40 micrograms of lead per square foot (µg/ft2) to 10 µg/ft2 on floors and from 250 µg/ft2 to 100 µg/ft2 on window sills. The more protective dust-lead hazard standards will apply to inspections, risk assessments, and abatement activities in pre-1978 housing and certain schools, childcare facilities and hospitals.  The rule will impact persons conducting lead-based paint (LBP) activities in accordance with 40 C.F.R. § 745.227, persons operating a training program required to be accredited under 40 C.F.R.

Environment Canada will be demonstrating the Canadian Notice and Movement Tracking System’s (CNMTS) Movement module, on Wednesday June 19 from 1:30 to 3:00 pm (E.T.).This new module is scheduled to be launched at the end September 2019. It will allow movement documents for international shipments of hazardous waste and hazardous recyclable materials (HWHRM) and confirmations of disposal or recycling to be generated, submitted, tracked, reviewed, cloned, exported and printed online.

New York Delays Enforcement of Household Cleansing Product Information Disclosure Program

On June 12, 2019, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) announced that it will delay enforcement of the Household Cleansing Product Information Disclosure Program (Disclosure Program) from July 1, 2019, to January 1, 2020.  NYSDEC states in the June 12, 2019, Environmental Notice Bulletin that it will begin enforcing any violations of the required disclosure as of January 2, 2020.

Ammonium, potassium, and sodium persulphates are inorganic salts are available in a supply chain.  These substances as ingredients in hair products are used mainly as hair bleaching or hair lightening agents, thereby, helping to decolorize or lighten hair by oxidizing the colors present in the hair shaft.  Ammonium persulphate is also used in the baking industry as bleaching agent.Read the entire article here.By Abdul H.
