For those who became Hazardous Materials Managers-in-Training (MITs) before June 1, 2004
Upon achievement of eligibility, CHMM candidates who have not been through this new HMMT program (including Hazardous Materials Managers-in-Training designated before 6/1/04) will continue to take the full CHMM examination, on which Science, Applied Science, and Basic and Advanced Technology are all covered along with Regulations and Management.
It is expected that all Hazardous Materials Managers-in-Training will qualify for CHMM certification within five years of achieving the Trainee designation. The HMMT certificate will expire after five years. Those who qualified under the older MIT program will be notified of any changes in their status.
