Give Your Students an Extra AdvantageThe Hazardous Materials Manager-in-Training (HMMT) program is an introduction for graduating students and young professionals into careers in the field of hazardous materials management, environmental science, public safety or security.Students who participate in this program are recognized as young professionals who are serious about careers in hazardous materials management and related fields. Participation can enhance their employability, and give them an opportunity to network with other professionals, both young and experienced, through programs of the Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers (ACHMM). IHMM is seeking additional university partnerships for the HMMT program. Participants are faculty members (usually Professors of Engineering or of Environmental Science or Technology) who are already involved in preparing students, through their curriculum, for careers in hazardous materials management, environmental science, public safety or security. The professor normally includes a review of the HMMT examination topics as part of the final semester course work, and encourages the students to apply for the HMMT examination. IHMM also has a Research Grant Program through which accredited institutions may receive up to $10,000 each (a total of up to $20,000 in awards per year) in funding for projects involving hazardous materials management or environmental management.
