IHMM Board of Directors Elect Officers

Elections were held at the June 15, 2007, meeting of the IHMM Board of Directors for officers of the Board to serve through December 31, 2009.  Those elected are:

Peter R. Spinney, Chair

Cynthia L. Savage, Vice Chair

David H. Benshoof, Treasurer

Gary A. Breg, Secretary

The non-officer CHMM Directors are:  Kenneth L. Manchen (Immediate Past Chair), Gary D. Robinson, and Elizabeth R. Pfeiffer.  Stephen C. Jones serves as the Public Member of the Board.

New Fellow Named

At its meeting in December 2007, the Institute Board of Directors recognized Michele Toelkes, CHMM, for her outstanding contributions to the hazardous materials management profession and the CHMM Program by naming her a Fellow of the Institute. 

Fellows nominees must have been certified for at least six years and be nominated by at least two current Fellows; they must also have made significant contributions such as: developing or advancing a new technology, apparatus, or device;  implementing a new hazardous materials management principle, methodology, procedure, or technique; advancing the value, importance, and recognition of the profession in the marketplace or the media; training or developing training materials that improve workforce knowledge and skills; performing an honorable or heroic deed; or other acts deemed worthy of such recognition.
